ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In february this year the new album of El Periquín ‘De Madrid Al Cielo’ was released.
With his first album ‘Sonakay’ El Periquín already got to be the first Dutch flamencogitarist selling his records in Spain, with praising critics a.o. in El País.

With ‘De Madrid Al Cielo’ El Periquín has another scoop, being the first Dutch flamencogitarist to be recorded in Madrid, produced together with none less than Juan José “Paquete” Suarez. The latter produced for worldfamous flamenco artists such as Paco de Lucía, Diego “El Cigala” and Tomatito, who visited the studios of Paquete various times during the recording of ‘De Madrid Al Cielo’.

Madrid is the cradle of the flamenco, and it’s where El Periquín laid the basis 20 years ago for his career as a flamenco gitarist. In his own way El Periquín not only plays the popular flamenco styles, but shows himself a master flamencogitarist on ‘De Madrid Al Cielo’ also in the more traditional styles, with surprising and beautiful compositions.

A must for music lovers!
