No Apologies

by Elucidation

"No Apologies" is an anthem of self-empowerment about being who you are regardless of what others think. It features a strong female hard rock vocal by Athena, awesome guitar riffs by Rick, a crankin' drum beat by David and a cool bass line by Paul.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Classic Rock Resurrection with Attitude

"Elucidation" is new twist on classic rock featuring music composed by Richard Barcellona with lyrics by Athena Vienna. The first six songs were recorded with Richard playing multiple guitars including bass, and a drum machine (plus keyboards on a couple of songs), with Richard and Athena alternately singing lead vocals. Elucidation's music is Classic Rock & Hard Rock. Lyricist Athena comes up with most of the song ideas*; Richard is the musician, engineer, and producer who brings the ideas to life. David joined the band in 2010, and played drums on "Break From Being Broke" and "S.O.S. (Save Our Seas). He also designed our band logo and "No Apologies" logo, and helped design and edit our band photos. Bass guitar player Paul Ruiz de Castilla began playing bass with the band in October 2012. Paul will be playing live shows with us, and will play bass on recordings of our new songs. Elucidation already have 9 songs completed; the newest, "No Apologies," features Paul on bass. Our song S.O.S. (Save Our Seas) is now available for purchase as an MP3 on cdbaby.com (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/elucidationband3), as is our pop-rock "Beatlesque" classic song about world peace "Soldiers Armed with Love," (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/elucidationband4). You may stream all of our songs on the first and second pages of our band website, www.elucidationband.com and on soundcloud.com. We are working on one more new song, which will feature Paul on bass and is expected to be completed and released by the end of June 2013; it will be available for streaming on our band website and soundcloud.com, & possibly for downloading through the cdbaby.com website (depending how well this one does). We expect to release our CD "No Apologies" shortly thereafter in Summer 2013. The CD will be available through cdbaby.com and/or through our band website.

Richard and David (along with John Keith, who is featured on bass on the track "Soldiers Armed with Love") were in several bands in the late 1960's, including The Band with No Name (Richard & John), American Revolution and Edge. Their main hit was "Shape of Things to Come" with American Revolution. If you Google their names you can find some stuff (David's last name at that time was Novogroski). Richard also had a major hit album "Outlaw" with his band Actor, which was released on the Vertigo label in Europe in 1980, but never released in the US as Vertigo was bought out. Richard also engineered many band's songs in the 1970's and 1980's. Richard and Athena Vienna have been writing songs together since meeting in 1994, and originally were going toward a female artist type of thing with their first four songs: "Spinnin' My Wheels", "Skeletons in My Basement", "Space", and "No Rest or Relief". Getting married and having a baby and regular 40-hour-a-week jobs slowed all of that down.... Then in 2008, they decided to do more of a duo/group thing, and got David to join them on drums! At first they were calling the band "Swift Kick," but before they could buy up the domains, a couple of bands appeared on the net with that name, so we had to come up with another one--so we are now "Elucidation"(meaning to make clear or shed light on, especially thru explanation). Our new bass player Paul Ruiz de Castilla experience playing both rhythm & bass guitar in the heavy metal band "All Is Lost." Elucidation is from Los Angeles, CA, USA.

*Exception is "Remembering." Richard composed the music and lyrics, some of which were modified and added to by Athena.
