Emerald Rosey goodness
"That Night in the Garden" is Emerald Rose's seventh album and the second live offering from the group. Normally live CDs have diminished sound with off key mistakes abounding. However, that is not the case with "That Night in the Garden". The sound quality hasn't been lessened at all, and this Celtic bands talent and over nine years of experience shines through. In addition to the songs holding onto their quality, the lyrics and songs are original and quite well done. This reviewer found herself humming the songs when she last expected it. In particular, Red Haired Mary, the 5th song on the album is of a quality rarely seen and hasn't left my current sound list since I first heard it over a month ago.

Emerald Rose's experience and exuberance come through their music and will make you want to get up to dance with it, or at the very least learn the lyrics so that you can join in with the fun. In addition, fusing American Folk Rock and Celtic into one brilliant sound couldn't have been easy and yet these guys have pulled it off and made it look easy. Their skill with the instruments and the vocals are impressive enough, but the lyrics themselves are diverse and interesting and by far make this music experience worth it, even if they were sung by artists with far less talent than this band shows. The lyrics are poetic, hauntingly astute and incredibly clever, staying with the listener long after the CD is finished.

If you have any interest in either Celtic music, Folk Rock or songs created specifically for the pagan community this is the group to listen to, with this album being this reviewers enthusiastic suggestion.

That Night in the Garden
It captured their live performances, with all the energy and passion the lads pour into their music. I am looking forward to their upcoming tour of Ireland. Listening to their music in a Celtic land will be a treat indeed.
