ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Emily Forst takes her place on the blue-eyed soul stage with self-made 2012 debut album, “Here We Go.” After a bitter breakup, the sultry songwriter resolved to record her debut album at NYC’s legendary Avatar Studios, and put it all down on tape. The album is a testament to her diverse musical influences, from NYC’s singer-songwriter scene of the late ’60s/early ’70s, to Billie Holiday-esque ballads, to stadium rock. The result is a ten-track album of masterful craft, musicianship, and deeply emotive vocals that pull it all together. Although all audiences will take something away from the universal themes of the album (heartbreak, breakdown, and eventual hope), audiophiles searching for fresh chord progressions, high levels of musicianship and polished, without-being-slick production, will find her music particularly rewarding. These songs, with hooks and lyrics that linger, will stay with you long after the music has finished playing.

Here She goes..
A most impressive debut CD by young singer/songwriter Emily Forst.'Here We Go' is a collection of 10 songs which a mix of Pop/Country/Rock and Soul. The opening track 'Everywhere is Home' is a catchy retro pop tune with multi- layered harmonies, guitars and thoughtful arrangements. The title track 'Here We Go' has a nice country/pop feel to it.The Soulful 'When its Over' and Powerful Rocker 'Run to You' are my personal favorites and have hit single written all over them. The Production/Songwriting and Arrangements are stellar throughout and this is a breath of fresh air for today's new music.Emily Forst is an artist to watch out for...

Great voice. Great songs.
A really outstanding collection of tunes that shift between rock and pop, with an alt-country style in the production that fits just perfectly with Emily's fantastic voice. You really can't get better than good songs sung well, and that's exactly what's on offer here. Highly recommended and hope to hear more from her soon.
