ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lunar Recon is a jazz EP containing three alternate takes from the Endemic Ensemble's 2012 album, Lunar, which made Lucid Culture's "The 20 Best Jazz Albums of 2012." Lunar Recon's version of "Lilu" has impelling solos from Travis Ranney (tenor saxophone) and Matso Limtiaco (baritone saxophone). Composer David Franklin states that this version is the most Lilu-like (Lilu is a cat). "Return of the Pelicans" differs from the version on Lunar in solo order and feel with sensitive solos from David Franklin (piano) and Steve Messick (double bass). Lunar Recon's version of "More Than Anything" brings us fabulous solos from Matso Limtiaco and Ken French (drums).

Travis Ranney - alto and tenor saxophones
Matso Limtiaco - baritone saxophone
David Franklin - piano
Steve Messick - double bass, band leader
Ken French - drums
