Erica Taylor (born March 31st,), better known by her stage name(s) Erica Diamonds,or Miss Erica, is an American born recording artist and actress.She was first noticed from her debut on a Slip n Slide Records mixtape hosted by Trina for her debut track "Letting Go".
Early life and career beginnings
Diamonds was born in Jacksonville,Florida and is of African American and American Indian descent. She first began acting at the age of 19 appearing in the PBS Documentary The American Experience:The Great Fever . She was interviewed both locally and nationally for her acting and modeling endeavors .Her first magazine feature was in Down Shift Magazine . In 2010, while performing under the name Miss Diamonds, she was invited to have her song "Shot Thru the Heart" placed on Coast 2 Coast Mixtape VOL 116 Hosted by National Recording Artist Kurupt. This mixtape also featured Hip Hop heavyweights such as Lil Wayne, Drake and, Snoop Dogg. After gaining some recognition through her mixtape placement, in 2011 Diamonds teamed up with engineer Paul Lapinski of My Platinum Sound to record her first EP entitled 'Version 2.0'. The EP was released in 2011. Diamonds's first single "Secrets" on "Version 2.0" was produced by Kajmir Royale, the producer responsible for tracks such as "God is Enough" on Lecrae's Dove award nominated Rehab Album. "Secrets" made its radio debut on WCGL . She later released a remix for Secrets which featured National Recording Artist Antonious of GrapeTree Records. She recorded a music video for Secrets that is currently airing on VEVO and other television networks.
After releasing Version 2.0 in 2011, Diamonds entered the Itunes International music Charts, debuting at #36 in Belgium with her single, "What Would Jesus Do" . Her music soon spread to music sources such as Pandora, Spotify, Last FM , and Pure Volume . In May of 2011 Diamonds released her first official rap track and music video for the song "Blessed" . "Blessed" was voted #8 by Dasouth.com in the top 10 video competition . In a live radio interview , Diamonds stated that the song "Generated a lot of controversy that I wasn't even expecting". In 2012 she became a three time award nominee for her work on "Version 2.0". Erica Diamonds is currently recording a full length studio album.
