The Chaotic World We Live In

by Eric Vaughn

Recommended to those who enjoy McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock or John Coltrane. The first track, "Very Early" is calm and settling but the fury that Vaughn later unleashes on "The Chaotic World We Live In" is what will keep you listening.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Vaughn was born and raised in New York City. He has been playing the piano since he began lessons at age 9 with Sal Mosca, student of Lenny Tristanio. Vaughn received a basketball scholarship to University of San Francisco in 1973. After 1 year playing basketball Vaughn injured his knees and transfered into the music program to continue what he had started years earlier. Vaughn proceeded to earned his B.A. degree in music and M.A. degree in music performance in 1977. He has been playing piano professionally ever since.
Vaughn has performed across the U.S., Europe, Canada, North Africa and played for the U.S. forces in Guam and Hawaii. He has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutchinson, Eddie Moore, Bert Wilson, and Santana, among many others. Vaughn played at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival in Canada with various groups for eight years. Recently Vaughn has been performing solo concerts, playing with The Eric Vaughn Trio and with the Billy Poindexter Quartet.
Like many musicians Vaughn has struggled to make it doing what he loves most and does best. He has creatively survived the ups and the downs. Vaughn just recently published his new website and hopes to share his music with people far out and beyond. We hope you will enjoy the places that Vaughn's music will inevitably take you.
