Jesper Eriksson & Wedell mixes styles such as rock, pop, country, singer/songwriter and americana. The main influences are artists like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Johnny Cash, Ryan Adams and John Mayer. The result is music you kind of believe you\'ve heard before - but never have.
The songs of Jesper Eriksson & Wedell range from standard pop structures, like verse, chorus, bridge and so on, to traditional folk tunes á la Bob Dylan and pure Stones rock. But melodies and lyrics is always number one, the instruments just enhance the vocals.
Jesper Eriksson comes from a small town in the middle of Sweden. He started writing songs at age 16, and recorded several demo EP:s. The debut album \"Stay with me sweetheart, don\'t close your eyes\" was recorded in the summer of 2007.
It\'s a low budget project. All songs (except one) were recorded in Jesper\'s home studio. The material was handed to producer/mixer Andreas Granath who spent the fall, winter and spring producing, mixing and mastering the album.
In early june it was finished. It took one year.
The album is an experiment. How good can you make an album sound with zero budget and how many can you reach? The main goal, though, is not selling a lot of records and making money. It\'s simply the satisfaction of knowing that you\'ve made something with your own hands, in your own livingroom that people can appreciate.
If you wanna be part of this project, have a listen.
This is americana from a swedish living room.
