A "must have" holiday album with warm, exotic female vocals and a vast array of instruments, doing unique arrangements of songs by Tom Waits, Elvis, Harry Nilsson, Joni Mitchell, The Pogues and even ABBA... just the right amount of Celtic and traditional.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Through a blending of styles, both antique and modern, classical and elemental, torch and bluesy, crystalline and rough, Erin McNamee’s voice entwines and explores and invents itself." (-Anonymous fan)

"... one of the purest voices you'll hear in this city." (- Seattle Weekly)

Born in the small Cascade mountain town of Sultan on Highway 2... in the Skykomish River Valley in Washington State, Erin McNamee was a child of nature turned singer from the time she could speak. For over 2 decades, Erin has been performing, writing songs and recording in the Seattle area. She teaches voice, guitar and songwriting lessons from her studio in Seattle and sings in local venues most nights of the week. Erin also has played music all over Washington State, as well as Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, the Southwest and also in Canada, Ireland and Scotland.

In 2006, Erin met local Seattle Recording Engineer, Garey Shelton, and started recording her debut independent release, "Whores and Fishermen." She finished the 14 song album in 2009, and finally released it in September 2010. In her 5 years working with Garey and recording, so many wonderful Seattle musicians have played on her albums. She continues to record and network with Garey and other professional studio musicians regularly. She has started helping her students to access professional recording at Garey Shelton Productions, and has been working as producer on several projects. "Siren Studios," Erin's vocal studio is in the Ballard/ Greenwood neighborhood.

Erin lives with her husband, Jack and their two cats in Seattle and part time in Leavenworth, WA at their cabin in the Mountains near Lake Wenatchee. Erin performs weekly as a solo acoustic artist both in Seattle and Leavenworth. She also plays with her 5 band-mates in the Erin McNamee Band. "It's my fun, "folk-punk" Irish project," she says. Erin's band-mates, some of whom were classmates from music school at Cornish, play an amazing range of music. She and the band can often be seen in singing in local cafés, pubs and restaurants in Seattle and the surrounding areas. Erin sings mostly folk music and teaches multiple genres: opera, classical, chant, cabaret, jazz standards, music-theater, blues, roots, country, bluegrass, rock, Irish trad, and celtic. Her song repertoire consists of somewhere near 400 songs. Just go see her a any of her solo acoustic shows... you'll be smitten!
