Album Notes
Zoe Erisman, pianist and composer, is a Professor at the University of Colorado at Denver. Her concertizing career has included two European tours, two tours in China, and one tour to Russia. Her appearances include solo programs at Wigmore Hall, London and at the Moskow Conservatory. She has performed chamber music with Pierre Fournier, Mischa Mischakoff, Josef Gingold and others. The DENVER DUO, her violin and piano duo with Concertmaster Jesse Ceci, has performed extensively in the Rocky Mountain region. The Orion recording “Zoe Erisman, pianist, plays Shostakovich” was released in Japan, Israel, Europe and the U.S and received favorable reviews in Ovation and American Record Guide.
In Fall, 2006 she was guest of the city of Izmir Turkey playing a concert
and teaching at the Izmir Conservatory.

One of her compositions, a Quintet for Bassoon and String Quartet, was performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington. The Kunming Symphony of China performed a retrospective of her orchestral and chamber compositions. Protests and Evocation, a work for 2 pianos and violin, was premiered by Earl Carlyss (former Juilliard Quartet member), Ann Schein, and Miss Erisman. Several of her students have gone on to college teaching careers and to careers as performers.
