Cocaine Blues

by Escort

Old-time schoolyard rhymes collide with 21st century production in the funkiest PSA of all-time. It's what would have happened if Hunter Thompson and Cole Porter dropped acid at Ron Hardy's Music Box and recorded it at the dirtiest studio in Kingston.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Escort's new single, "Cocaine Blues" is a true DJ anthem, and a sick reinvention of a pair of reggae and disco classics. The single features remixes by world-renowned DJ and producer Ewan Pearson and Hacienda legend and electrofunk pioneer Greg Wilson, plus an extended mix by Escort for the dancefloor.

Escort, "Brooklyn's finest disco orchestra", was founded by producers Eugene Cho and Dan Balis, and is fronted by lead singer Adeline Michele. Initially known for a series of critically-acclaimed 12" singles, Escort is now just as well known for its live performances featuring a 17-piece line-up. The New York Post and Time Out NYC both described Escort as the "city's best live band," and Pitchfork described their single, "All Through the Night" as "one of the best New York disco tracks since West End Records' early 1980s heyday." Also recognized for their remixes of artists including Tracey Thorn, Antena, and Feist.
