Eslabon: an original Rock-Retro Band, a Beatles covers band a classic 60´s Rock and Roll band. All these adjectives apply to them. It all started in 1999 when three guys studying at the University of Puebla decided to form a Rock and Roll group.
Their early repertoires included hits from the 60's and 70´s sung in english and in Spanish. The band played in small local bars and restaurants until 2002; they then took a small break and got back together in 2004 with the following line-up: Jorge Espejo: drums, Carlos Franco: bass, Marco Quintana: rhythm guitar, Chucho Quecholac: lead guitar and keyboards. Of course they have vocals, instead of having a main vocalist, Eslabon has three singers (Marco, Chucho, and Carlos), usually one takes the lead while the other two sing harmonies depending on the number.
In 2004 they started touring around central Mexico with a show called "Beatles Sinfonico". This concert consisted of those songs that the Fab Four played with a complete symphonic orchestra. The show was a big success and Eslabon continue to perform it in different cities around Mexico. During that year they also released their first single Paris para ti/Silencio two rock-pop numbers composed by the band members.
In 2006 they recorded and released independently their first album called Rock-Pop, the album includes 3 covers and 9 original compositions. The album was recorded at the band´s studio. And three of the numbers can be heard at www.myspace.com/eslabonrock.
In 2007 Victor Illarramendi took Jorge´s place on drums, since the last one couldn't stay with the band due to his own projects.
Eslabon is the only rock band in central Mexico that play the so-called Rock-Retro, a characteristic type of music that fusions 60's rock-pop with actual Rock. Let the show begins…
