Everyday Aloha are a fresh, new Hawaii-based island music group formed in Kalihi, Hawaii in 2009 while the members were all attending Farrington High School. In 2011, they signed to Go Aloha Entertainment and began work in the recording studio on their debut album under the guidance of the production team of Imua Garza and Brett Ortone (Kolohe Kai, Rebel Souljahz, Brysen G).
Their debut album, “Don’t Give Up,” is comprised of 12 original songs composed by group leader Timothy K. Vigilla Jr. (ukulele, lead vocals) whose creativity and gift for words really shines throughout the project.
The album’s first track, “Ain’t Just For Show,” with its catchy ukulele hook and sing-a-long chorus, will bring the listener back to easier, more innocent times. This track, as well as “What Is Love” and “Just Say Yes” are reminiscent of producer Imua Garza’s first band Opihi Pickers of which Vigilla was a big fan.
The smooth reggae groove of “Make Things Right” lays down the musical foundation for the singer seeking forgiveness as he sings, “darling can we please not fight, stop the arguing for just one night...”.
The song “Destiny” is set up nicely with an upbeat sax/uke intro before Vigilla starts singing, “Darling you’re my plan A, just like this chord, there’s no plan B, no plan C, baby, I’m yours” in the hopes of convincing the apple of his eye that it is their destiny to be together.
