ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali Ensemble's second live cd : Mehfil-e-Sama Vol. 2. This traditional urdu qawwali CD features the worlds greatest Pakistani qawwali tabla player, Ustad Dildar Hussein Khan. Dildar Khan was qawwali king Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's tabla player for 28 years until Nusrat Khan's untimely death in 1997. After such an incredible career of tabla accompaniment with Nusrat Khan, Dildar Hussein was constantly exposed to the greatest qawwali vocalists of his generation. Because of this & his own exceptional musical knowledge, Dildar Hussein also has a wonderful ability as a lead qawwali vocalist. In Mehfil-e-Sama Vol. 2 Fanna-Fi-Allah had Dildar Khan sing on Ya Mustapha Nur-ul-Khuda so that listeners could hear a rarely exposed side of this legend of qawwali music.
