Fernando Knopf was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1977. His first’s connections with music began at his home in Buenos Aires, surrounded by Jazz, Classical and south-American music. He began studying Piano, Music Theory, vocal training and Bass Guitar at age of 14 with private teachers from Buenos Aires.
In 1996, Knopf left Argentina and moved to Tel Aviv, Israel.
In the new country he received a full scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee affiliated “Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music”, where he studied for four years in the Jazz Performing program, receiving a “Jazz Major” in 2000.
After graduating with honors from Rimon, Knopf continued to study Bass with Arie Volinez, focusing in Jazz/Fusion improvisation and with the renowned Contrabass player Eli Magen.
In 2000 Mr. Knopf began playing and arranging professionally in Jazz Ensembles, Salsa and Brazilian Groups, Orchestras and Productions.
From 2001 thru 2010 Fernando performed with International Artists including:
Tour with Efrain Toro (Puerto Rico-USA), Singer Deborah Brown (USA), Saxophonist Eli Degibri (NYC), Singer Nancy King (USA) with Pianist Steve Cristoffersson (USA), Pianist virtuoso Alon Yavnai, Trombonist and arranger Avi Lebovich, Drummer Norberto Goldberg (NYC), Zig Zag Latin Jazz Quintet (Israel – USA), Violinist Ricardo Herz (Brazil- Paris)' Trumpetist Gregory Rivkin (NYC), Drummer Vince Cherico (New York), Percussionist Roberto Quintero (USA), Yelsy Heredia (Cuba-Spain), Shlomo Idov, Yoram Gaon, Din Din Aviv, Marina Maximilian Blumin, Italo Gonzales (Chile), Missa Criolla with Ensamble Latino Americano, Din Din Aviv, Amikam Kimelman, Guri Agmon, Holon Big Band, The Tel Aviv Jazz Big Band, Israel Kibbutz Orchestra, The Israel Chamber Orchestra, The Jerusalem Salsa Band, Conjunto Tipico, Laila Malcos, Flamenco Guitarist Baldi Olier, Bandonionist Eduardo Abramson (Argentina), Oud Player and Violinist Yair Dallal, Eyal Sela, Ilan Salem, Eric Niceberg, Musical Show “Sweet Charity”, Kahol Irish Band, Uri Miles, Bustan Sefaradi, and many more.

In 2004 Fernando formed his own Latin Jazz Band, a fusion of Latin American/Caribbean rhythms, Jazz, original songs, compositions and arrangements. The Group performed extensively for 3 years.
From 2005 till today Mr. Knopf is also the Musical Director of THE ISRAEL SALSA BAND, a world class Salsa Band.
In 2006 Fernando released worldwide his Debut CD with his Latin Jazz Band, with the collaboration of distinguished Guest Artists and Trombonist/Composer Avi Lebovich as a Co-Producer.
In November 2005 Fernando was granted and distinguished in Buenos Aires, Argentina with the 2005 “Jewish Cultural Achievement Award”.
On July 2006 Knopf was part of a special interview with Maestro Lalo Schifrin.
In 2008 Fernando formed his NEW QUINTET. The Music is a combination of popular & original powerful songs and compositions with Latin American rhythms, World Music, Jazz, Funk and more.
Currently Fernando is performing abroad with world class Artists and with his Band, and has performed with big success at the highly acclaimed Red Sea International Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, Mercaz Enav Theatre, Eilat Salsa Festival, Nestle Music Fest at Kikar Rabin 2007, Zappa Club, Kamelot Club, Shablul Jazz Club, Milestone Club, Jerusalem Theatre, Haifa Theatre, Tel Aviv Museum of Arts and many more.
Fernando has performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Israel, USA, Spain, Greece, Turkia and more.
In addition, Mr. Knopf teaches at the Berklee affiliated "Rimon College of Jazz and Contemporary Music" in Tel Aviv. He directs the Latin Jazz/Salsa Orchestra, Latin American Music Courses, Bass Lines and more.

an amazing cd - very recomended
the cd makes you dance, smile and be happy. it's very good music and you listen to quality. the cd is good for every hour.. at home, in the car, and even when you do sport. if you listen to it once you will defenitly listen to it again!
