What some people have said about her:

From BILLBOARD.com

White Birds
Sarah Fimm's 2004 album "Nexus" was a stunning celestial journey, while 2002's "A Perfect Dream" contained a chilling, isolated beauty. Thankfully, 2009 heralds new delights from the singer/songwriter. The title track to the EP "White Birds" has the same lofty quality, but Fimm has migrated to a warmer climate. Soft tones invitingly gurgle as she artfully positions each synthesizer, their gossamer sounds gently resonating. Violins join in, dipping and sawing with carefree ease. "White Birds" can fit a variety of moods; you can unwind to it in a hot bath or ignite a promising romantic spark. Visit www.whitebirdsep.com for other winsome selections.—Christa L. Titus

Sarah Fimm - White Birds EP
It's been a while since we last heard from singer / songwriter Sarah Fimm. When news broke out that she was preparing to release not one but three EPs, we were ecstatic. Apparently, the long wait was because she refuses to release something less than stellar. With the release of the first of the three planned EPs (two of which are set for 2009), titled White Birds, everything became clear. It isn't just stellar, it's a supermassive black hole that sucked me right in. The delicious trip-hop beats, the meditative melodies, the haunting vocals -- perhaps even the feeling of solitude as I close my eyes and listen to the new music unaware of the world around me -- all point towards just how magnificent this moving piece of musical art is. One more thing you should know besides how wonderful this EP is, is that Sarah is giving away the EP for free! So, if I somehow piqued your interest in Sarah Fimm's music, head on over to the EP's website at http://www.whitebirdsep.com/ and download the whole EP. Thank you Sarah for giving us such a precious gift!

From SPUTNIKMUSIC.com
"It isn't often that you stumble across a free album that truly holds your attention and leaves you looking for more....
This diverse range of talent that also includes cello, violin and viola players pretty much ensures that every song is going to have its own personality. That means that even though opening track, “Counting Waves”, seems to imply that the album is going to be full of catchy, mid-paced acoustic folk, it only takes one listen to the gloomy trip-hop of the following track, “Let it Run” to realize that it isn’t the case. Upon further listening, it turns out that there’s also moving, synth-driven songs (Tamara Song) along side mellow piano pieces (Fly) and ambient soundscapes (White Birds). The amazing thing is that despite the variation, the album never sounds disjointed or pieced together."

A Thing of Beauty
With beautiful and haunting vocals, this EP is just stunning. I'm addicted to listening to these tracks!

Excellent, If Not The Best
I think I like Nexus a little more... maybe not. They're really close. And they're both part of my favorites, even after many, many listens. The mysterious, somber melody and lyrics step far away from any pop melodies and do something truly one-of-a-kind. Every music discovery service I've plugged Fimm into has failed to bring up any artists anywhere near.

An amazing find
Living proof that independent artists still exist!

She does no wrong!
Sarah amazing lyrics and music make her one of the most heart quickening, beautifully gifted artist right now. I am spreading her love to everyone who will listen and the reaction is contagious.I was able to see her preform White birds live and still dream about it. I love SARAH you will too.

Perfect for Summer Melancholy, Longing, & Love
I first stumbled upon Sarah Fimm in Madison, WI. Someone was passing out "Be Like Water" promos at a Tori Amos concert, and I was hooked immediately. While I didn't make it to the Cocoon table in time, I was quickly able to jump on the Fimm bandwagon with A Perfect Dream and then Nexus. In my opinion, Sarah just gets better and better -- "Mercury" was my Nathan-jam, if you will, up until the release of White Birds. The entire EP is perfectly "sized" for a nice walk outside, or for a car ride with the windows open. "Counting Waves" and "White Birds" are great "songends" (versus bookends), and "Afraid" has a violin-induced siren call of power -- cue those shivers up and down the spine. I think "Tamara Song" may be my favorite; it's dripping with rich history, sadness, and intense love for Tamara, whom the album is also dedicated to. (I'm curious who Tamara is, but I like living with the mystery.) I spent the weekend at a friend's, who pretty much lives in the middle of the woods, with just a few winding roads. "Tamara Song" is the perfect soundtrack for being out there with the trees and hills and sun, driving toward your destination (which could be a person, a soulmate).

White Birds Soars
I love Sarah's songwriting, vocals and composition. Always so much depth and beauty. I just wish we didn't have to wait so long between albums!!

Worth the wait
Have been listening to Sarah Fimm for years and I have been waiting for something new for what feels like an age.

I was not dissapointed and this has been on my player since it arrived

Awesomeness!! ~__^*
It seems like all the artists whose new releases I've been anticipating have been a disappointment. Not so with Sarah Fimm's "White Birds". There's nothing disappointing about her latest endeavor! Every song on here is worth listening to. "Counting Waves" has finished off an entire pack of batteries by itself!
If you like Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, or Kate Havnevik, you'll most definitely love Fimm!(Though, IMHO, I think Fimm is better! I listen to her music much more than the other three.)
