When novelist, filmmaker and music producer Stephen Pytak embarked on "Dancing Shadows," a music and film project, in 2012, he commissioned a few artists to interpret the material. Among them was Scott "Flip" Wesp of Ohio who specializes in keyboard instrumentals and dark industrial rock.
Flip is a solo artist who has been creating, recording, producing and writing electronic music since 2009, according to Flip's Facebook page.
Stephen has written a series of novels featuring a low-rent mercenary known as "The .40 Caliber Mouse." One of the series' most notorious characters is "Marci," an FBI agent who was obsessed with the case. Stephen titled the track "The Ides of August" after a concept he had for a novel about "Marci," which includes the storyline for "Dancing Shadows."
The track also features a heavenly accent at the 1:55 mark, the voice of Jenna McBreen, the actress who played "Marci" in "Dancing Shadows." She speaks a few lines from the song "Dancing Shadows," which Stephen wrote the lyrics for.
"The Ides of August" is one of the tracks on the album "Dancing Shadows" which was released by Mazz Press on Oct. 26, 2012. For more information, log on to www.mazzpress.com
