Album Notes

Floyd Curry Burton was born and reared in Eupora, Mississippi.

He has had no formal music training, but has been blessed with a God given musical talent that has allowed him to entertain himself, friends and family all of his life.

His sister loved to share the story that he began singing in church at the age of five, due to the fact that she played the piano for Sunday service and the only way she could keep him out of trouble and keep his attention was to sit him on the piano stool with her and encourage him to sing.

Music has always been a part of his life. In high school, he played on the Eupora High football team and marched in his football uniform at half time with the band while playing the trumpet.

He enjoys reminiscing of the years he sang with a gospel quartet, "The Revivalaires."
While continuing to enjoy his music at his leisure, he spent most of his adult life in the Manufactured Housing Business as a profession.

Enjoying semi retirement, at the age of sixty-nine he decided to teach himself to play the piano. One piece of equipment lead to another and he now enjoys two keyboards along with several microphones and amplifiers. He has carpeted his air-conditioned garage and turned it into a music studio where he loves to jam with friends.

One of these friends is Linda Manuel. He and Linda began working on the lyrics to the song " There's Still Wine In The Bottle", as a lark, and it is now published by Silver Lake Entertainment LLC and recorded on the CD - Floyd Burton "Seventy Three."

Most of the enjoyment in recording of the CD Floyd Burton "Seventy Three" was the interaction with the great musicians of various backgrounds. Just to mention some, Red Barnes a member of the Western Swing Hall of Fame, Rudy Osborne who played with Dottie West at one point in time, the members of the "Out to Lunch Bunch Band" from Benton, Arkansas, especially Johnny Scroggins his brother-in-law whose devotion made it all possible.

Floyd Burton says, at the age of Seventy Three, he has recorded his first CD, but it will not be the last. WATCH FOR THE NEXT ONE ...

Brings back old memories of the golf trips we made in the olden days.
I think it is a great CD. I love country music and that is what it is. I especially like the song There's Still Wine in The Bottle. You still have a great voice Floyd and I hope you make another CD soon. I'll be one of the first ones to buy it.

Who did you get to do the singing? LOL That's Great. I guess you had to wait until your were 73 in order to let your voice mature. LOL - Wish you great success - Let me know when you put of your next CD

What a surprise. Lots of great cover songs with Floyd's great voice! His own penned "There's Still Wine In The Bottle" is a good as any of these classic country tunes. Well done!!!
