ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Black Umbrella is the swan song of progressive rock band Fluttr Effect. Known for their fresh combination of metallic guitars, intense drumming, cello and MIDI-marimba this album continues their search for new bold horizons to sail across.

Finished posthumously by Troy Kidwell it wasn't always an easy process. "I was heartbroken by the end of the band I felt I couldn't just let these songs go unheard and wither away but I couldn't bear to listen to them for a long time after we recorded. The wounds were just too fresh and the music reflects that to me."

The music is expansive, polished in places and yet intimate in it's raw candor in others. Like a relationship gone astray, good times and bad, it is what it is, a melancholy memory of what once was.

Taj Katola
