ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Fog is a San Francisco based jazz quartet. This eclectic group is made up of pianist Jeff Chimenti (played with the Grateful Dead, Ratdog), guitarist Brad Buethe (Jack MacDuff, Jaki Byard), bassist Peter Barshay (Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson), and drummer Brian Melvin (Jaco Pastorius, Bob Weir).
They have played together for many years, and have mastered the art of musical conversation. Using jazz as a skeletal format, Fog blends songs from many genres and composers. Their soundscapes can take on a dream-like quality, as well as an intense, hard driving feel. The music has a fresh and unique sound.
This latest recording was captured live at Bob Weir's state of the art TRI Studios. It also includes Bob as guest artist on guitar on Jerry Garcia's tune, "China Doll".
