Los Angeles, CA April, 2007
New Wave/Electro-Rockers FOLIO are currently touring in support of their debut EP Great Divide, released on the 11db Music imprint. Fans have described FOLIO's music as a mid-air collision of Duran Duran, The Killers, Interpol, New Order, Shiny Toy Guns and Franz Ferdinand.
Great Divide features performances by guest artist heavyweights Joey Waronker on drums (Paul McCartney, REM, Beck, Smashing Pumpkins), Lyle Workman on guitars (Sting, Beck, Frank Black) and Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. (Beck, Morrissey, Air, Angels & Airwaves) providing additional vintage synth textures. The album was mixed by Bryan Carrigan (No Doubt, Seal, Alanis Morrisette)
The group has performed with A Flock of Seagulls, Oslo and Thomas Dolby, and most recently was the guest artist on the Musicplustv.com show Indie Substance. The live performances and interview footage from this show will be available for online viewing later this Spring. On March 4th, they were the headline entertainment for the Los Angeles Marathon, performing to 10,000 people.
Having just completed a southwest tour including stops in Austin, TX for SXSW, FOLIO is currently booking additional shows with a possible UK tour in the works. In addition to playing shows and festivals, FOLIO just completed a licensing deal with MTV/VH-1, and is busy writing new material with plans to record again in May or June.
