Album Notes
The trio consists, besides the leader, Claudio Conforto on
piano and Pietro Valente at drums. Rooted injazz, gladly
exploring the land known and unknown
Jazz of yesterday, but it is directed to a modern, vibrant and
dynamic music affected by all the new steps of European
jazz and scoring goals of great creativity.

Giko Pavan is one of the most distinguished double bass players
and musicians in Italy for the quality of its musical projects and
collaborations. Provided with a severe classical studies and graduated
in Conservatory in the eighty, is considered to be a musician
very comprehensive with great knowledge and openness to
all forms of music. In addition to bass, he plays piano, conducts
choir and orchestra, is an arranger and composer. Session man in
with important names of Italian jazz scene from the 1980 as Pietro
Tonolo, Giorgio Gaslini, Massimo Urbani, Enrico Rava, Enrico
Pieranunzi, Stefano Bollani, franco d’Andrea and many others, is
been asked often in concerts and tours alongside musicians internationally
renowned. He has played with Chet Baker,Kenny Drew,
Art Farmer, Dave Schnitter, Ran Blake, JohnAbercrombie, John
Taylor, Tony Scott, Paul Bley, with whom recorded as a trio, Astor
Piazzolla, Richard Galliano.
His diverse musical activities not only related jazz sees protagonist
on the international scene classical music as a specialist in
early music, conductor, arranger, composer.
He has appeared at the most famous stages of the world :Teatro
alla Scala in Milano the Berlin Philharmonic Saal, the Sydney Opera
House, the Lincoln Center in New York participating in events,
and most important festivals wordlwide and recording for labels
labels such as, Erato, Sony, Denon, Deutsche Gramophone, Opus
111, Arcana, BMG, ECM, EMI VIRGIN. With italian famous ensemble
SONATORI DE LA GIOIOSA MARCA he play from 25 years in all
the important international sites of Ancient music, practicing with
great knowledge of the eighteenth century music on original instruments
in particular that of the Italian composers of the Venetian
area. This ensemble has been importants awards and honors
from critics and audiences and offers an important discography

Padua and regularly gives lectures and master classes in Italy and
Europe

Claudio Conforto

Born in Padua in 1980, began studying the piano
the age of seven, and
in 2008 he brilliantly graduated at the Conservatory "C.
Pollini "of Padua.
She studied classical music with Maestro David Javakhishvili,
Georgian performer descended from the great school
Russian Neuhaus and jazz with master Paul Birro.
Take part in various seminars taught by leading musicians
which Stefano Battaglia, Erwin Vann, Markus Stockhausen.
Very active as a pianist and composer participates in
various projects performing with musicians such as David
Roar, Francesca Bertazzo, Tammy Tang, Daniel
Santimone, Gianni Bertoncini, Mark Strange, Willie
Oteri, Scott Steen, Alessandro Fedrigo, Lino Brotto, Alvise
Seats, Alberto Vianello, Gastone Bortoloso Marco
Rosengarten, just to name a few.
He plays in several Italian festivals performing their
compositions and in 2006 he was called to play in
Estonia for a project on Italian music.
In 2007, he recorded the CD Milonga de Hoy in which he plays pieces
Astor Piazzolla and Egberto Gismonti.

Pietro Valente

He was born in Padua on 29/04/1982, he began to play the drums
the age of 8 years old and already fifteen performs in
Padua playing with local rock bands. Start the profession
in 2001, at the University of Music in Rome
studied with some of the best teachers of Italian
Faculty of battery: Maurizio dei Lazzaretti, Pietro Iodice,
John Arnold, David Robins, Gaetano Fasano,
graduating in 2006 with a specialization in jazz and
getting the maximum votes.Nel 2004 he was hired to
Beethoven Music Center, where he taught until 2007,
in the section of modern music: CAMM (Art Center
Modern Music). At the end of 2004 he attended the course
jazz "Occupation Musician" offered to him by the Porsche and
held at the school of music G.Gershwin. In 2006 the
Umbria Jazz Clinics selection wins, as the best
drummer to perform at the festival Umbria Jazz Winter
and a few weeks later is the only drummer to win
the scholarship seminars Siena played Jazz.Ha
in some of the most important festivals in Italy and Asia:
Umbria Jazz Winter, Taichung Jazz Festival (Taiwan),
Kaushung Lantern Festival (Taiwan), Porsche Jazz Festival,
Shanghai JZ Festival (China), International Music
Meeting, Veneto Jazz Festival Verdura, Vicenza jazz,
Delta Jazz Park.
He has performed with several orchestras including: the Royal Big
Band, the Shanghai JZ All Star Big Band, Orchestra
Italian Light Music conducted by Diego
Below, the Jam Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of the Veneto.
In April 2007, he performed in several jazz clubs in
Taiwan with his trio and held two workshops
battery;
between August 2007 and May 2008 he lived in Asia
where he recorded three albums for Better Music in Taipei
with the best jazz artists of Taiwan and in 2009 the
disk "REFLECTION" recorded with pianist Wu Suchi
won the GOLDEN MELODY AWARD.
