Profoundly moving
Very profound and moving album. Think Dido, Ricki Lee Jones cross. At times intimate and other times just a simple, uplifting celebration of life told with an elegant, melifluous voice. The production on this album (it seems to have been mixed and mastered by the top guys in France) is high class.

A wonderful journey
This album is a journey album - it will make you want to get in a car or plane and go somewhere - like - gallop or fly around the world perhaps. It is magic genius, I cant stop listening to it

Not That Girl
Once in a musical while, one happens up an album that just kinda fits neatly …be it with one’s current aural mood, the musical mode of the moment or some other random factor of the day/week/month…even year.
Not That Girl fits perfectly for me…and will doubtless do so for moons to come. It is a diverse yet cohesive collection of shiningly mellifluous, sumptuously sophisticated and superbly crafted songs that effortlessly steers its way from the beautifully crafted, sophisticated and atmospheric popishness of the title track and standout, Cover The Hole via the reggae-tinged Too Much Too Fast and on through the slightly Brell-esque Reaching the Blues to the classic Totally Shine…which is just one of those songs you feel you’ve heard before, or at least should for years to come.
I make no bones about the fact that I have been a lifelong devotee of the female in music from an adolescent obsession with the (then historic) girl groups of the 60’s (Ronnie baby, I still will be your baby) through the West Coast wonderfulness of the Canyon ladies and in more recent years the indubitably fine quality works from the likes of Tori, Tracy, Shaun, Laura, KT, Norah et al.
Well Freyja and NTG is without a shadow of a doubt a worthy addition to this hall of fame, from an artist who ain’t no flash in the pan floozy (4th album is this), but a musical craftswoman, with honey-coated chords (vocal in particular), a fine ear for a tune, a lyric and a route to the eternal search for tune-induced. goosepump.
Freyja should be moving up a division or three in the popularity stakes if Not That Girl is anything to go by. Buy, listen, enjoy…repeat ad nauseam
