An impressive all star ensemble of Puerto Rican Latin jazz and Salsa artist get together to record one of the most exiting new salsa recordings of today’s music scene, all under the conducting of Furito Rios. Pedro Brull, Primi Cruz, Jose Lugo, Piro Rodriguez, Jose Pepe Gazmei, Dalbert Garcia, Luis Aquino, Anthony Carrillo, Edwin Clemente, Milton Sesenton, Victor Vazquez, Angel Papo Vazquez, from Barcelona, gipsy singer, Sicus Carbonell and from Puerto Rico, the young Sonero Joshua Marcell are just a few among the all star band, LA MAESTRIA.
Furito Rios is a Puerto Rican composer and saxophone player, that started playing professional at the age of 15, he graduated as a composer from Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, and with a Master degree in Music from Cambridge, and studies from Boston University and Berkee College of Music. He has played with great musicians and singers thru his more than 30 year carrier, such as Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Arturo Sandoval, Celia Cruz, Diane Shurr, Cultura Profetica, Michael Camilo, and many others.
La Maestria, is a confirmation that Rios is a “Maestro”, either conducting a full orchestra playing one of his contemporary compositions or performing the baritone, alto, soprano or tenor saxophone with his jazz group. After appearing in more than 300 recordings throughout his career as a saxophonist, composer and music arranger in diverse musical genders, from classical music to jazz and even main stream , Furito returns to his first love, SALSA, and makes a recording perfect to be enjoyed, both listening to it our dancing thru it.
