Singing, writing, producing and recording herself, Gabriele Morgan wields a sharp blade of emotional truth sheathed in gorgeous musical arrangements in the service of telling her tales of human foibles and experience. You won't feel it go in but you will never forget the turn of it once it reaches your heart.
Jonah's Song is an instrumental piece heavily informed by the unique sonic vocabulary of the Optigan, a home entertainment device from the 60's & early 70's that used discs of Optical film on which were recorded instruments and sound effects that were played on the keyboard of the organ-like body of the instrument. Along with sampled flute and surf guitar carrying the main theme forward, it paints a charmingly innocent and wistful mood which reflects the sweet nature of the beloved old cat for whom the song is named.
Jonah's Song is one of the Secret Child song cycle collection.
