Album Notes
Welcome to the second solo CD by Gerry Alvarez, with the tryptic title of OMEGA TEA TIME!
Solo You say? Well in a different era, the mid 80's to the early 90's to be exact, Gerry was/is a key member of a band that played constantly played sold out shows across Canada/USA and released many records. And this band was recognized as being at the fore front of the 60's Garage Music revival that was happening world-wide. The Band was/is Called THE GRUESOMES, and GERRY was the Guitarist, sometime lead vocalist and song writer.
Now that we have got that outta the way, let's get down to this brand new album that GERRY has just released! As with, THE GRUESOMES, GERRY is still relying somewhat on a previous era for his musical inspiration. That being the late 60's and the PoP-Psych Guitar that used to emanate daily from the radio. Gerry is still digging those heart warming sounds and You will too once You PoP this into Your CD player (or whatever means You have of listening).
So sit back, enjoy some special Tea, and groove along with GERRY as He takes You on a musical journey. And if You like this (And You Will), You are sure to DIG GERRY's previous CD, CANDY PRANKSTER, also on RICOCHET SOUND!!

The Gerry Alvarez Odyssey
Omega Tea Time

Ricochet Sound

The second album-under a magnificent cover-for Gerry Alvarez (guitarist + singer for the legendary Gruesomes) entitled (so psychedelic and enigmatic title) Omega Tea has just arrived! It is focused more in the sunshine psych-pop of the 60's than his first Candy Prankster. It has fantastic songs like no man's island, voices from the sky, end is beginning, and temple on the hill with great melodies that'd been stacked in my brain since first listening. The more psychedelic, repression, cosmic weaving, and I hear the wind brings me in mind the English 60's group. In top of all is the hit of the album too many reason. It is a great song fully inspired by psych/pop culture as it'd been born in the sixties and developed in the 80's.

The Gerry Alvarez Odyssey "Omega Tea Time", Ricochet Sound 2010
