Album Notes
Gary Jess was born and raised in Spokane, WA. His musical talent began at the age of six when he began formally studied classical piano. By age nine, he added woodwinds to his talents performing in several orchestras and jazz lab bands. He played tenor sax throughout highschool and taught himself guitar in college.

After graduating from Washington State University, Gary moved to the Seattle area. Gary Jess compositions have been used in film, TV (The Travel Channel), cable access and used by the University of Washington Ballet. His compositions have received awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Gary was named to the Steinway Artist Roster by Steinway and Sons Piano Company in 1997. Acceptance into the worldwide Steinway Artist roster indicates not only high musical performance achievement, but it reflects the artist's dedication to and confidence in the Steinway piano. Gary has a Steinway B that he uses in his studio recordings. He has a studio recording copacity of up to 100 instruments per song, performing and recording each one separately.
