In 1897, 11 year old Virginia O'Hanlon asked The New York Sun, "Is there really a Santa Claus?" The newspaper's editorial which answered her question is brought to life in this warm, moving affirmation of the Yuletide spirit.

GARY THEROUX is a 2009 Emmy-nominated television writer who has created and written programming for Disney, PBS, CBS and others -- ranging from such three-hour specials as "Legends of Comedy" and "America in The '40s" to the 52-hour Billboard award-winning "History of Rock 'n' Roll." The winner of awards from Connecticut Public Television, The Connecticut Commission on the Arts and others, Theroux spent 20 years as the Music & Entertainment Editor of the world's most-read magazine, Reader's Digest, creating, writing and producing more than 300 CD and DVD releases with cumulative sales topping 39 million copies. Other long-running credits: as a UCLA music instructor; entertainment historian; local and national radio producer, programmer and host; author of several books and countless articles, liner notes, etc. He's presently the managing producer and head writer of the Emmy-winning TV talent showcase series "Community Auditions" (see communityauditions.com). Theroux voices both the narrator and the elderly New York Sun newspaper editor, Francis Church, on this 2010 recording. JULIA MEYERS, an 11 year old violin student from New York, makes her recording debut as Virginia.
