Album Notes
Some musicians are at home in one style or situation. George Kosich, trained originally in classical saxophone, (including Paris Conservatory) is also an outstanding vocalist, (big band, rock and musicals) jazz performer (Bill Green, Abe Most) and band leader! Other perfomers on this CD include previous instrumentalists from the Stan Kenton, Woody Herman and Les Brown bands/orchestras! Praise for George's talents include the following: "This excellent recording showcases his many talents," (Jack Latimer, pianist) "George Kosich has the intelligence and talent to accomplish anything he wants to achieve," (Bill Green, saxophonist, studio musician) "George is a consummate musician; great vocalist and outstanding instrumentalist," (Abe Most, clarinetist, band leader) On "Copacabana," George not only sings, but also plays a neat saxophone solo! On the "Chicago Medley," he sings, plays a great clarinet solo and scat sings- how many musicians can do all of these things so well!? The "New York Medley" includes not only "New York, New York," but also a variety of broadway-like show tunes. The other tracks literally speak for themselves! Finally, the arrangements of these great songs are new and refreshing, making them even more enjoyable and unforgettalble!!
