ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
One part Todd Calvert, one part Ian Capilouto, add some Matthew Molchany and a dash of Joseph Martin and you have the recipe for Gertie Fox. More than mere separate ingredients working together, the ingredients comprising this rock n' roll band are the seemingly divine culmination of four kids sprung from two sides of the country--Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Orange, California. With one EP and two full-length releases, to know them is to hear them.

At first listen, you've got a rock band with tasty musical chops, deliciously smooth hooks and an undeniable pop sensibility, but on second listen a dialogue with someone familiar opens up to the listener. This recipe of life is a combination of being in love and then finding yourself alone, living in one place only to cross the country to another, being on the road with friends and facing hardships together while Gertie Fox smoothes your woes and affirms, "It's ok, bud." Guitars slide like the longest of highways on a chilly night or warm you up like the sun sweating in the west coast beaches on an idyllic summer day.
