ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Abrasions Improv from New York. A fierce duet. Gian Luigi Diana and the drummer Jimmy Johnsen. Guitar, laptop, tongue drum, turntable, screams and sighs. From the notes of the cover: '' We do not judge the results of a Tsunami, the death, the destruction, the devastation and so on. We see the Tsunami like a mysterious power, a raw/primitive power that belongs to the Nature. We are interested to this unexpected release of energy. Seeing the images without sound of the recent Tsunami in Japan, we have search to imagine how puts into sound this primordial force that alone a free improvisation can give the opportunity to express ". Forget the pearly growths of "Cristalli Sonori" (the previous work of Diana, always on ''setola di maiale''). This is liberation, savage, cathartic, dulling. Right in the teeth. Dry avant-garde and sculpted. Free and contusions blues. Reflected ripped Hendrix, sandpaper Sharp (about "Larinx" and "Datacide"), James Blood Ulmer with a leg trapped in a trap. Sceams. Birds in migration. A peremptory invitation to the action. Whatever it be it is. (review by Marco Carcasi, originally written in Italian on Kathodik.com)
