ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
High Energy, Power Packed Real Country With Flash! That's PENNY GILLEY! Known as the "Sweetheart of Country Music", Penny is a true country classic singer. This energetic, 5'2" brown-eyed blonde explodes on the stage with a marvelous Country sound and a dazzling splashy wardrobe. Penny has worked with artists from Barbara Mandrell to Yakov Smirnoff, has performed throughout the country and around the world in venues such as The Nugget, The Flamingo and Bally's in Las Vegas & Reno to casinos from Louisiana to Minnesota. She has logged over 300,000 air mile performing for our troops in South Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait for ten consecutive years, and has performed in festivals in Norway, Germany, and Denmark.

Penny's performances are "strong and heartfelt" as noted by Gen. Norman Schwartzkopf after she performed at his request to over 100,000 people for the returning troops of Desert Storm. Penny was honored recently with the ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR AWARD by the United States troops in South Korea. Among the many accolades Penny has received, her most prized awards have been those of the charitable organizations she supports and being given the rank of Honorary General. She was invited to Washington, D.C. to perform for delegates to the World Peace Conference. She also headlined the 99th national U.S. Veterans of Foreign War Convention in San Antonio, Texas. She currently has six CD's, the most recent titled "Gone From The Chart, But Not From The Heart" a collection of 14 of her most requested traditional country and 50's/60's Rock and Roll classics. Take a listen and you'll say, "That's country! That's Penny Gilley!"

Gone from the chart but not from the mind
Penny Gilly is a mighty fine singer. She hasn,t sold out to rock and roll, still sings country the way it should be sung.

Marvelous show
Hi Penny, it was so nice meeting you and your husband. What nice people you are, down to earth. I really enjoyed your show. Jeff, what an artist, I could close my eyes and hear Conway and the band, wow! You have it all. I enjoyed all of the shows in Branson but I enjoyed your's the most I think because it was all about the music not a lot of dancers. Believe me I like dancing as much as anyone but this was more from the heart, more personable and we have the same mentors it seems. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you again soon. I look forward to our newfound friendship and who knows maybe one day I can say, "I performed with Penny Gilly". I listened to all of the CD's on my way back to Florida. I heard a lot of Jerry Lee in the keyboard player. I could just go on but I'll stop here and wish you all God Speed.

Gone From The Char, But Not From The Heart
Still love the old country songs. This was a very good mixture of songs and made the drive to work fun. I am glad Penny is staying with the real country songs, we just hear enough of those any more. I would recommend this CD to anyone who loves real country music.

Very good indeed
Very good vocals - this is the first CD I've purchased of Ms Gilley's material. Material ranges from the old 1940 Gene Autry hit "Blueberry Hill" up to the recent "Boot Scootin' Boogie" and "What Part of No". I would have given this disc 5 stars but for two minor quibbles: (1) packaging - no songwriter / publisher credits and no list of musicians playing on the sessions. (2) Several of the backing tracks (particularly "I Fall To Pieces") have the sound of being either karaoke or canned tracks, but if so, she has synchronized exceedingly well with the track or tracks

We ordered all 3 of your cd's and we really enjoy them. We watch you on RFD-TV as often as we can. We hope to be able to get to Branson some day to see you in person. Keep up the good singing. Sincerly Carl and Jean Stocker
