Album Notes
I do believe that artist Lamont Gilliland has found a way to take his skill on the piano and use it to compose original pieces of music to delight the senses.
Nancy's Music Review -

I believe that everyone knows when they have found their place on this earth. For me it took over forty years to find. I believe my place is composing music and playing the piano.

Over twenty-five years ago, I dropped my pursuit of music to take the more conservative career path as an engineer. During my middle teens I studied music theory, composition, and technique at Converse College Petrie School of Music. I loved playing and composing, however, my reserved nature did not lend itself to performing. So instead I sought refuge in an engineering profession. A quarter of a century later, I have come to the realization that this was not a place of refuge, but rather somewhere for me to hide.

I feel a sense of peace while composing and playing. I often wake in the middle of the night with music accompanied by beautiful imagery. I feel compelled to capture what is within me at that moment. In fact, people have asked me to lengthen some of my tracks. However, I am never able to completely reproduce an original recording and modify it without losing its spirit. Therefore, I leave them as they are - a reflection of my inspiration at that point in time. In that regard maybe composing and playing is more similar to painting - the same brushstroke can never be repeated identically. Each is unique in its expression of the artist at that moment.

At first, I produced the CD only as a way to share my music with friends and family. Before long, people began requesting copies for their friends, co-workers, and family members. On the suggestion of others, I put my CD in a few select shops and found that it was selling remarkably well.

When I was first putting the CD together, my wife Wendy commented that the music was very therapeutic and would be complementary to music therapy used by counselors, massage therapists, and yoga. This was confirmed by others when my CD became available on Amazon and CDBaby, and I found that many massage therapists, counselors, and yoga instructors were purchasing the CD.

It is true that you receive what you send out into this world. My music is my gift to others, and I am finding a warm reception in return.

We are all artists. The fulfillment of life comes in finding our place, and a way to express and share our art with others. I hope that you find a moment of "your place" through my music. If so, then I have fulfilled part of my purpose on this earth.

My sincere thanks and appreciation!

Thoughts on One
When I listen to One, I feel very quiet and peaceful. The music seems to connect me to the eternal part of myself. It helps me to open myself more fully to the mysteries of creation. The problems of my day slip away, as I am reminded that my soul belongs to God and that I am never alone.

heart paced musical flow...
I've been using your CD for several psychotherapeutic interventions in my practice here at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento. Your music is comforting and has beautiful passages that are easy for all age groups to enjoy. Your music has a unique and instinctive heart paced musical flow.

Soothing Sounds
I love listening to this CD while I am at work. No matter how stressful my day, this CD can help me through it.

Beautiful and relaxing
I use this CD in my massage practice, and my clients find it very calming. Sometimes "relaxation CD"s can be distracting, but ONE is helpful in promoting a deeply relaxing experience.

wonderful for pranayama...
"ONE" is a beautiful piece of art that I utilize with my yoga students at the studio -
I have been in practice for many years and I am very particular about the messages that I convey to students as they are in such an "open" place in yoga practice, absorbing so much into their hearts, the music from this cd brings a balance to the studio and brings peace.
- I feel the energy that surrounds the music and where it comes from, your heart, and that is what the students absorb.
- Your cd brings a sense of calming and is wonderful for pranayama (breathing meditation), asana (postures) as well as our relaxation.
