Album Notes
"Singer/Songwriter Gene Michael Best is a strong lyricist, and take on themes such as love, loss and life altering decisions with equal aplomb. As mainstream pop music skews ever younger, it's refreshing to hear a pop album made by an adult about adult concerns. 'Real' is a very promising debut."

Sounds like Jack Wagner
Does anyone remember Jack Wagner from General Hospital? He was a huge soap opera star from the 80's who crooned,"All I Need" to desperate housewives and teary-eyed teenage girls all over America. This guy sounds JUST like him! Check out the link to this gem, "Premonition" and see for yourself. I give this album two stars for being so real.

Smart, Sexy, Fun, and...Real.
GMB's album is one of those "right for every season" listens. Nurse a broken heart over a glass of merlot (or a fifth of Jack?)and "There Was a Time". Celebrate a baby's laughter with "All the Love In the World". Bang a gong, bust a move and just WAIL to "Cry Baby Cry". Sit a moment on warm summer night meditating on the rising moon with "The Twilight Garden". Then sigh and know that you're not alone, after all, with "The Only Child".

On a backdrop of often spectacular musical gatherings, sophistocated production, and an entirely new "voice"....Real hits the mark of celebrating the universally unique experiences on this great spinning ball in the galaxy in a way that feels...well, just plain GOOD. Smart, Sexy, Fun, and.....Real.

A GREAT debut.
No pap songs here - real feelings, real problems explored with interesting melodies and lyrics. This guy is destined for the big time if the right people listen.
