ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pet Zounds is Joel Roberts (goLab) recreating the classic 1966 Beach Boys album Pet Sounds. Joel recreated every sound he heard on the album using exclusively a Yamaha QY100 sequencer/soundbank, learning all parts by ear and then layering many vocal tracks in an attempt to harness some of the magic of the original album. Begun in 2003 and finished in 2011, this eight year labor of love was worked on intermittently between albums from Joel's primary bands: goLab, Flamtronic and the now defunct Stylex.
