Album Notes
Robert has been playing piano since he was 6 years old and has performed in almost every type of band and musical style. Consequently, his original musical on this CDs ranges from country to jazz to rock to punk to improvisation. In other words, the CD is hard to classify because it does contain so many styles.

One of the major features of this CD is the exceptional piano performance. It has always been his intention to use the Grand Piano like a whole band and, on this CD, he provides a range of rhythms and emotions that rivals any performance by a complete band. This is not just a singer with piano accompaniment. The piano plays the part of every instrument resulting in a complete musical experience.

Another aspect of this CD is the range of ideas and philosophies presented. There is much wisdom in these songs without sounding preachy. These songs have real meaning and are intended to help anyone deal with the trials and tribulations of life.

After many years of playing with bands as well as solo gigs Robert found a much more rewarding use of his talent; performing in nursing homes. This is his "main gig" these days. He has performed about 30 shows a month at these facilities since 1993.

This all started one day when he was meeting his daughter at a convalescent hospital in Santa Cruz, CA, and she suggested he play a song or two for the folks. The room was very quiet with people just passing the time, the way they do all day, every day.

"At that time I was performing piano bar at the Mission Ranch in Carmel where one of the favorite songs of the older patrons was I Can't Give You Anything But Love, so I thought I'd try that. The change in the room was dramatic. It was a party. People started singing along, tapping their feet, clapping their hands. One fellow got out of his wheelchair and started to dance with a nurse. (I found out later he hadn't done that for over two years!) The music's effect was truly magical. This same scenario is repeated EVERY time I play a show - people sing, tap their feet, and some are inspired to dance. It is truly a wonderful gift for me to be able to bring so much joy to folks who need it so much."

You can listen to the music he has created for seniors in all types of facilites on his Piano Magic and Musical Memories Series.
