Album Notes

What do heavy metal and TV casting shows have in common? Fortunately, nothing. However, exceptions confirm the rule, and even the impossible may happen in that something good might come out of it.

Hailing from the Romanian capital Bucharest, the band is comprised by ex members of the heavy metal band Thunderstorm (who in their 12+ year long career supported heavyweights such as Judas Priest, Manowar, Helloween, Rage, Evergrey, etc.) and the winner of the Romanian TV show Megastar 2008 (the Romanian equivalent of Pop Idol). The band have already finished recording and mixing their debut album, which was produced by the bands own Alex Pascu and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost, Soilwork etc.) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

Although Goodbye To Gravity haven't released an album yet, they did play on the biggest festivals in hometown Bucharest (two years in a row, actually, in 2011 and 2012 with bands like Obituary, Kreator, Moonspell etc), opened for Pain of Salvation at the Roman Arenas, Bucharest's most famous open air venue, and were selected from over 2000 international bands for the yearly "New Blood Award" (in 2 stages - by jury selection and public vote) among the six bands who got to play the Summer Breeze Open Air 2012 festival in Germany, where the band received a huge appreciation from the crowd and critics alike, who wrote that "it was clear that [they] are dealing with a very seasoned and experienced band".

For this trip to Germany, GTG got a sponsorship from none other than the Jack Daniel's brand, who saw great potential in the band's future and decided to help out.
