Album Notes
"Covered Bridge" The second release during what was a period of steady touring for The Gordons. Remastered from the original tapes and re-issued by Reception Records in 2000.
Features the original lineup of Gary and Roberta Gordon, original banjo player Gordon Wilfong, plus new member Charlie Rice on fiddle (later with Austin's Dixie Diesels) and Tom Patterson on standup bass. Tom had been working with Chicago Blues legend Sunnyland Slim and lent tasteful and driving bass sound.
By now The Gordons were keeping the roads hot, honing their skills at colleges and festivals around the country.

"Everybody knows how I feel about The Gordons. They have done more for bluegrass than most anyboday. Great songs! They never disappoint me."

Upbeat, solid and weathered
Bluegrass close to perfection. Since I bought this CD it never left my car and became a very good friend on long road trips.
