ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It's rare these days to find anything lasting or permanent. We almost expect things to change rapidly with all the fancy and fast technology we've created to make our lives' "easier". With over 30 years of creating music and performing, the Grass Routes Bluegrass Band is not one of those "flash in the pan" type of success stories. The BAILEY'S DEAL CD that you have in your hands, is a compilation of experience and talent from folks that have earned the respect and admiration they garner from their fans and fellow musicians.

I've been a part of the Grass Routes musical legend from both sides of the stage. As a young man, I watched, listened and enjoyed these talented folks at many a bluegrass festival in the Northeastern United States. I was lucky enough to sing and play with Grass Routes for 12 years and also recorded two CD projects as part of this group. We easily forged a lifetime friendship and created some of the best musical magic I've experienced. (Bailey, the Reveley's cat, also spent many hours dozing off in my opened guitar case and I got to eat the great goodies and pies that Marilyn always served at band practice, yummy!) To say the least, I was very honored to be asked to write these notes about their newest project.

Here's the real deal. You'll hear five wonderful lead voices, some great original songs, both vocal and instrumental and experience the finesse of Grass Routes on songs they've covered from other artists and writers they love. You don't often find this much singing, instrumental and writing talent in one band! Most likely, you've just purchased BAILEY'S DEAL after listening to a live set and you've already experienced a lot of what I'm telling you. There's gold in this crystal casing folks! Once again, the magic has been created and you get to take home and share in the talent of some really good people!

If you're reading these liner notes while listening to the wonderful music assembled on this "album". (Bill always calls them "albums", not CD's) Well, STOP READING RIGHT NOW! Pour yourself a cup of coffee and cut a piece of pie. Relax and let your mind's eye paint the pictures that will happen as you listen to something lasting and real. There's no need to read any further. You are in Grass Routes Land and all is well! Enjoy!
