ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Three musicians with wildly different musical backgrounds collaborate in the format of a Jazz trio. Founded on the ideal that creative modern-improvisation and compositional intricacy can coexist, GJ3 came into being in 2012. Each member can be seen as a part of an interlocking whole.

Greg Johnson brings a variety of compositional influences to the group, as well as a creative and dynamic voice on his saxophone. Keyboardist Sadamu Hirsh adds a level of old-school Jazz intensity to the mix. Harry McKenzie provides the groove on his drum-set and can be heard rapping on "Somethin' New". On the first and last tracks, celebrated saxophonist Bob Mintzer makes a guest appearance.
