ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Though my recordings on CD baby have been children/family oriented, my formal training has actually been in the classical genre. This collection of piano masterworks are some of my very favorites and represent all the musical periods from baroque to jazz. 'Andante' means "in a walking tempo", so the pieces are slow to moderately paced. My hope with this album, was to re-visit some of these works with a new depth of understanding and to master the ones I had not yet had the opportunity to explore. Creating this collection was a process as I didn't want the music to be too complicated (sometimes listening to classical music can make me think too much) but I wanted the melodies to be interesting, yet familiar. I felt that the pieces I eventually selected somehow connected to one another regardless of the time period in which they were written. These composers gave us such beautiful harmonies and textures, I feel grateful to be able to share them with you...
