Album Notes
On Groove For Thought's Songs Of Good Cheer, this Seattle vocal septet puts together a collection of holiday favorites as only they can. Stunning jazz harmony is woven into all of the arrangements, whether it's the contemporary a cappella take on O Holy Night or the reggae infused Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. Pianist Nicholas Moore adds beautiful accompaniment to several of the tracks including A Christmas Collection, a medley of four traditional carols given the Groove For Thought treatment. Another track not to miss is We Three Kings/O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, originally featured on The Sing Off: Harmonies for the Holidays and remixed for this project. It's been fourteen years coming, but Groove For Thought's Songs Of Good Cheer has been worth the wait.
