ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Guaycura Sounds (Goo-I-Koora) is a band from Tijuana México that started in the last days of 2004 driven to express music in simple terms yet with energy and honesty characteristic of their punk-hardcore roots. Some time after the breakup of the band 4eli, guitarist and drummer Danny and Sensei (César) sought out to ask Victor (former LHC and Convulsión bassist) to join in on the bass, a convergence of ideas that resulted in immediate connection and proposals, some of which were to have other musicians collaborate with the project further enhancing the synergistic approach in some sort of collective effort so the sound got richer and the ideas expanded. A year and some went by and for personal reasons of some members the project was on and off but after a period of stability ideas came in to structure and yielded the songs that would get recorded, which was the next step to take, a task that challenged the band musically and technically. With the contribution of Wicho (Jose Luis, ex-BeAm, Nortec collective) as an invited bass player and the participation of geographically distant Calin (Carlos) added the icing to the cake so the proposal was complete, a rocking freestyle ensemble.

The Guaycura Sounds EP was recorded at Glad Noise Studios in Tijuana in early 2007 by Roy Cañedo. Mixing and mastering by Roy Cañedo in Guadalajara, Mexico. The artwork is product of Pablo Espinosa.

Very Good Compositions
this is one of the best instrumental cd's i have heard and bought in the last few years.the music doesn't need a singer and Guaycura Sounds know how to play and arrange good music compositions.
if you need a comparison or a sounds like then i would say that this cd has the feeling of Fugazi's 7 Song ep and the temper of At-the Drive In.
