ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Guy Bacos began playing the piano at the age of 8. After quitting piano lessons several times, Guy discovered a new world waiting for him. While enjoying his piano lessons he discovered he had a gift for composing. After a few years of fruitful private piano lessons, Guy was introduced to concert pianist Paul Loyonnet. During his lifetime, Loyonnet established friendships with many great 20th century composers such as Debussy and Ravel. After studying 5 years with his new mentor, Guy went on to earn a Bachelors degree in composition at McGill university. His Maters in performance was earned at the University of Montreal under Claude Savard.

After his graduate studies, Guy began his career composing music for various media’s. Additionally, he augmented his palette with pop and jazz music. His smooth piano playing and versatility made him the house pianist of the Club St-Denis, a prestigious club located in downtown Montreal.

Guy's first major film scoring credit came with "Eternal" (2004). Since then, he has been an active member in the entertainment industry. This includes numerous other film projects. His abilities as a midi programmer were quickly noticed by VSL (Vienna Symphonic Library). He became an official and leading demo maker for them for the past 5 years. Guy has worked on hundreds of commercials for major companies such as Human Worldwide. His main passion is writing symphonic music, whether it's for his own pleasure or for scoring a film. Guy's pianistic abilities are of great essence to him. He enjoys playing Elton John as much as a Chopin Etude.

Music from the heart
This is a wonderful and genuinely emotional selection and reinvention of festive tunes, played to perfection by a true and rare talent. Each piece crafted with real care and musicianship. Don't be fooled: these pieces are really very sophisticated confections, yet sound so transparent and simple. That's an accomplishment only achievable by real talent, so thank your lucky stars to be gifted this in an age of mediocrity and musical indifference. And this goes for everything Mr Bacos does, so you owe it to yourself as a music lover, to hear all his work on offer on this site.
