Album Notes
Guyy is a new face to hit the music scene in 2013. Born in tropical Queensland and raised in Canberra, Guyy began playing guitar from a young age - learning his first chords from his Father and a family friend from his street.. Guyy continued learning for 8 years before resigning from his full time job as a 3D animation artist and diving head first into a life of music.

Since kick starting his career Guyy has been hard at work developing his own sound and style, being nominated for several awards already including 2 ARIA's, recently crowned Australian Nation Busking Champion and winner of the ACT Best Blues, Roots & World Artist of 2013. Guyy blends a love of Pink Floyd ingenuity with a later found taste for Australian roots & folk. Guyy incorporates an arsenal of effects pedals with his acoustic guitars, being able to switch from soothing acoustic melodies to overdriven tones - merging different elements and styles to create a unique and refreshing sound. Guyy has a passion for connecting with people, pushing the envelope and sharing that journey with everyone.

“Vast, barren, surreal landscapes haunt his musical interludes”
- Sofar Sounds 2013

“Guyy threw us all into a heart-palpitating frenzy at the sheer skill he shared, Guyy's music is energetic, original, layered and reeks of Pink Floyd-esque talent.”
- Art Party 2013

In his short career Guyy has been nominated for 2 ARIA awards - Best Independent Release and best Blues and Roots Album and is making his way around Australia's folk festivals circuit.

Huge Talent
While staying in Australia last year, I heard Guy's music for the first time. In terms of an ability towards 12 string acoustics, I don't think I've seen any better. The ability on the guitar, as well as his Pink Floyd influences comes through, especially on "The Language". A great first EP, with good production values, but the one piece of advice I'd have is to keep watching this space, and if you ever have a chance, catch him live, all music is best served live.
