ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Gypsy Pacific is Tom Conway (lead guitar), Willy Wainwright (violin), Marcus Johnson (upright bass), and Phil Benoit (rhythm guitar), four of Maui's finest musicians performing in the legendary style of the Hot Club Band with passion, elegance and dazzling musicianship. And they are hot, or "wela" as they say in Hawaiian, captivating the ears and feet of their fans, including Willie Nelson: "Gypsy Pacific was one of the first bands to grab my attention on Maui . . . they can hold their own and more! I know Django would be proud that his music is so elegantly presented . . ."
In an exciting departure from the traditional Hot Club standards, Wela presents a collection of classic Island swing and ballads as never done before. "Gypsy Pacific is one of the hottest Hot Club-style bands in the U.S.," (Vintage Guitar Magazine)
