ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
HANS OLSON is a veteran performing musician with 40 years in the music business. He began his career as a lead singer in a Rock & Roll band in Southern California in 1967. By 1970, Hans had developed a very unique and powerful solo act.
He plays an amplified acoustic guitar and harmonica. He is known as one of the best "harp-in-a-rack" players in the world.
Hans' singing is very powerful. His voice is comfortable singing many styles of music ranging from mellow folk ballads to growling boogie blues.
Hans' songwriting is one of his most notable assets. He has recorded over 70 of his songs on his 13 independent record releases.
Hans has been a full time performing musician since 1972. He tours all over the world, but most of the time he travels the highways in Arizona where he has an amazing reputation of being a solo act that can rock a nightclub all night long..
Hans plays music in a wide variety of styles influenced by artists such as:
Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Burdon,
Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones,
John Lee Hooker, John Hammond and Tom Waits.

i met hans at tony's new yorker in 1983. he is the one of the best blue's singers. i encourage anyone to get his music and if you have a chance to hear him live, like this friday, july 3rd, for his birthday bash at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix, you will not be sorry. Happy Birthday Hans...:) i remember staying up lot's of all nighters around the fire in scottsdale with you and mary and ken and just laughing and singing and having a blast. hope to see you soon. :) gypse

Wonderful work. You have what it takes.
Hello Hans, My sister Julie Botkin was your back up singer back in 1975 are so when you recorded Arizona what are you doing to night. Sorry to say she past away when she was about 24 in a small airplan chistmas day in Mexico. It was such a shame. It would be a better world if she were alive today. Would you consider playing at the Palms Theater in Winters California? Lots of artists sing there like Chris Smithers. Or at the Power House Pub in Folsom California. I just herd Led Zepagain play there. They were really good.

Not like anyone else
Hans music reminds me so much of John Lee Hooker. They have a way of stripping down a song right to the bone and saying what they feel. I get chills when I crank this stuff up and just sit back. I've been a Hans olson Fan since 72' when I saw him singing and playing his guitar in a park back in Ariz. I also own the recordings Kachina and Arizona. Can't wait until the rest of his collection is released. It's gonna happen!

I knew when!!
I was fortunate enough to meet Hans at a little town bar called "The Spirit Room", in Jerome Arizona, on a rainy afternoon, and was just strolling past the bar whos swing doors were always open, and I heard the notes of a very slow and "Gut Bucket Harp comimg from behind those doors"! From his first tune to his last I was completly taken by his easy going ways, and his complete mastery of what he was playing! I made my way to his table during a break, and spent a very insightful, and pleasent few minutes with this artist. I went outside later and purchased a cd of his tunes he stored in the back of his vehicle, along w/ a sleeping bag among other things In short I have had the good luck to catch him here and there as he is the "Complete Reborne Troubador: plying his trade whereever he can. Its Arizonas good fortune that he decided to return to his adopted sate , after a time in San Franciscio, CA Dont miss a chance to catch his work , IF BLUES AND SLOW STORYTELLING IS TO YOUR LIKING AND TASTES "HANS OLSON", will leave you wanting more .. Buy one or all of his cds cause you wont find them at "Wally World" he hasnt and I dont believe ever will sell out his strong bond to his style of entertainment or trade them for fame or fortune . Hes a dying breed of musician, and we need all of such performers we can get !! Rock on Hans . You are Appreciatted more than you know.

Hans Olson
Hans is the Best, I have known Hans for more than 20 years, and his music make feel better than any music I have in my colection. There is no other Blues Artist that makes me feel this way, I own all of Hans albums and I wish there were more available. You Wish is my favorite Hans Song of All Time, Evrytime Hans played Tony's I yelled out You Wish, He must have got sick of me...and with Arizona coming a close second for a second favorite . The rest all take third place to none.....

Rock on Hans... From a former Tony's New Yorker Employee..Now living in Montana

Hans you are the best and will always be the best...

Thank for all your music.

Danny
