Harts on Strings is an ensemble composed entirely of the Hart family - nine siblings committed to creating beautiful music together. The Harts formed Harts on Strings in 2009, after their wonderful father, Larry Hart, went to be with his Savior. He had always dreamed of the children producing a CD, and after his passing, they decided, with the help and encouragement of their church, to produce a CD of their Dad's favorite hymns. Be Still My Soul was a huge success, selling over 1000 copies in the first year.
Now, after many requests from fans, the Harts have produced their second CD, a Christmas CD: King of Kings. All nine of the siblings, now ranging in age from 25 year-old Ben down to 6 year-old Sam, have a part in the CD. Ben and
Caroline, the oldest two, both in graduate school studying music, arranged the songs, and their ensemble includes string quartet, brass, piano, vocals, harp, some percussion, and a special extra - an instrument that Ben invented comprised of crystal glasses and played with a violin bow. Hannah and Ben both sing solos, and their is also a children's chorus and choir.
King of Kings features many old favorites, including Silent Night, Joy to the World, the What Child is This, and also revitalizes some not-so-well-known but beautiful carols, including Thy Manger is My Paradise and I Wonder as I Wander.
