ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This record came about because I have loved the Greek myths since I was a child, and wanted a way to express those stories using music. My producer, Phil Swann, had the idea of combining narration with musical compositions and present it like a troubadour. Kind of like how Homer told the story of the "Odyssey" way back when. I was reluctant at first (why not write a musical?) but it really did come together so much better than I ever could have imagined. It was an absolute joy to create and record. Although it is meant for children, I am sure adults will also get a lot from hearing these myths told again. When I was raising my daughter , Hannah, I would have LOVED to have had something like this to listen to with her. As with my first two records, all songs were recorded live with the band in Nashville. Hope you enjoy and please spread the word about "Myths of Ancient Greece". Peace, Helen
