Album Notes
The picture of me singing when you open the C.D. case was taken in an eleven century church in southern France. I performed four of the songs on this C.D.. "Away From The Role Of The Sea" and "Song From The Mira" were written by Allister MacGillivray, a great Canadian composer from Nova Scotia. "Wood River" was written by Connie Koldar, a great Canadian composer from my home province of Saskatchewan. I was so proud to sing these songs for this audience for the first time. These are not only great songs but paintings of Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.

I have often sung "How To Handle a Woman" from Camelot in concert. Once I sang it at a wedding reception and as I sat down with my wife after you could see all the ladies looking at my wife and in their eyes there was a look that said "you are such a lucky woman to be married to this perfect man" ( I love to remind my wife occasionally about that.)

"Annie Laurie" is a favorite as well and I almost always dedicate this great Scottish love song to my wife. I have also tempered this with "the last verse of this says that she has a voice that is low and sweet and it is. Most of the time!)

I love spirituals. I have two on the C.D. I have always loved the "well connected" feeling when I sing these.
The Green Eyed Dragon is dedicated to my 9 grand children. It's a scary song that I have sung along with other children songs. I hope it doesn't keep you awake at night.

Finally, this C.D. was dedicated to my dad who passed away in 06. My father and I were sort of tied to the hip so to speak all my life. We farmed together for many years. When I was gone singing, well that's when he did all the work. He also drove me to many of my concerts even in forty below weather. Dad always had his video camera. I miss him.
